Mental Picture

I don’t know how many times I’ve been in a situation where I left my camera at home and I wasn’t able to cAptUre that perfect picture of my kids.  I kick myself for not being more prepared, but it seems that even in “prepared” situations, the mOmEnt can pass you by before getting out the camera!  This happens a lot in our family, especially when we head outside and our kids do cUtE and unexpected things.  I’m sure you can relate!

If you don’t have a camera HaNdy there is no reason why you can’t take a MenTal picture.  Doug and I take these on occasion in hopes to capture a snapshot of something we don’t want to forget.  Believe it or not, the actual act of taking the mental picture seems to help us REmeMBer those moments more easily.

P.S. I remember looking out the kitchen window one day and seeing Doug take a mental “picture” of Leanne doing something cute.  It just melted my heart :)

  1. While your husband took a mental picture of your daughter you were taking a mental picture of your husband. Mental pictures really help you to remember how you felt at the time also. :)
